Ready for Fall!
Just like that the summer holidays are over. Normally in summer things seem to settle down, but we kept on right through the season! Our biggest news is our move from Camrose to Tofield, AB. We set up in a re-purposed church, which is home to a preschool and an early education program. We were given the two-room balcony, which is spacious and we are happy to be there. We still have sewing events and a drop off spot at the Camrose SDA church.
Our summer road trip took my husband Dale and I to Turtleford, Saskatchewan to help support our new chapter over there. So great to meet the folks there.
We had our first visitors to our new Tofield location from Sherwood Park, Tony and Rose. They brought many items we will be using to put into our bags. Not only did they show up, but they helped with sorting items donated to BOL as well. Rose helped to build bags with Judith and myself.
Several trips have already been made to Edmonton to deliver bags to different Child Care offices in the last few weeks.
We have a special HATS OFF to the children in Daysland Alliance Church VBS who raised $450 in one short week. You kids and your leaders are amazing!!! It just sent goose bumps down me when I think how helpful this will be. Kids helping Kids is the most powerful thing, I think.
Donna, thanks for the receiving blankets and bibs just at the exact time we needed them.
September 18, 7 pm Noreen Blonke will be holding a class in the Camrose SDA Church on sewing together pre-cut pillow cases for BOL. Bring your sewing machine and show-up! More info call Jewel 780 663-2135.
Next will be an Open House showing off our new set up on September 24! Quickly followed by a road trip to Strathmore to present BOL to a sewing guild out there in early to mid Oct.
Sounds like a busy fall!!! We are excited having so many volunteers invest their time and energy with BOL. You make a difference in such a good way!
